In April 2008, Dr. Julie Nam was selected to be an integral team member on a surgical mission to Cambodia or a weeklong teaching and training intensive. The ORBIS team directed Cambodian ophthalmologists through surgical procedures which were broadcast live to an on-board classroom next door where observing doctors could ask questions via intercom

In February 2014 Dr. Julie Nam was an integral member of this surgical mission. Over the course of the week in Guatemala, Dr. Nam performed many strabismus surgeries on children with strabismus (misaligned eyes).

Dr. Emily Ceisler has been the strabismus surgeon for 2 mission trips to the Philippines. The first trip in 2013 was in Cagayan de Oro in the southern island and the second surgical mission was in Cebuin 2016.
