To our dear patients and their families –
Our three office locations are open to serve our patients and communities. We are accepting appointment scheduling via phone at this time.
Our offices are following all recommended guidance from public health authorities, including best practices for hygiene, infection control and medical professional team health.
We’ve implemented a COVID-19 specific protocol that includes instrument disinfection, rearranged waiting rooms to allow for greater social distancing, and thorough surface cleaning and exam room sanitizing between patients. We are limiting the number of patients we see each day to maximize social distancing protocols.
- Patients will have the opportunity to wait outdoors or in their cars and complete check-in procedures in advance on your mobile devices to limit the number of people in our waiting rooms.
- We ask that patients only have two others accompanying them in the office.
- Our physicians and staff are provided personal protective equipment (PPE). When patients and their escort enter the office, we will ask that you wear a mask as well and clean your hands using the provided hand sanitizers. You will be asked to arrive wearing a mask covering your nose and mouth at all times when on the premises. Please note valved masks or neck gaiters are not allowed, as they do not provide sufficient protection. If tolerated, this would also be requested for children ages 2yrs and older.
- We will screen all patients and their escort with a non-contact thermometer and will be asking COVID-19 specific questions prior to entering the clinical areas of our offices.
- Our adult patients with strabismus 65 years and older will be seen in the early morning hours prior to arrival of the children.
- Although typically not as conclusive as an in-office examination, we will continue to offer Telehealth consultations if you prefer.
We will ask you to reschedule your appointment (unless it is an ophthalmic emergency) if the patient or those accompanying the patient:
- Tested positive for corona virus in the past 10 days.
- Had close contact with anyone diagnosed with corona virus in the past 10 days.
- Had a fever, cough, or shortness of breath in the past 10 days.
- Spent more than 24 hours outside of the US or in any of the tri-state’s current quarantine-restricted states in the past 14 days
- Are currently under quarantine for any reason.
We are confident in our ability to continue seeing patients and providing you the best and safest pediatric ophthalmologic and strabismus care that you have come to expect and deserve.
Stay safe and strong!
